Peter Matthew 26:35 Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same. NOTE: Peter did deny Jesus, but he sincerely repented and went on to become a martyr for Christ as did many of the disciples.

Personal Thoughts and Application:
The picture above is of our dog, Roxie. Roxie, like most dogs is a very faithfully loyal servant to the human species. We used to think that she was a wimpy dog because she was so submissive to us, and she never meets a stranger. We figured she might lick something/someone to death as her only defense. One day, that changed, however, as 2 dogs who frequently came in our yard visited while we were outside. Roxie perceived a threat from one of the dogs and she gave a vicious warning that lasted a few minutes before she went into fight mode. Later that year, she caught a possum that wandered close to the house, and has targeted a few rattle snakes as well. Each time she has spotted a dangerous creature, she has alerted us. Yes, when it comes to serious situations, we can count on Roxie. But Roxie, loyal as she is, will not stay near the house. She goes into exploration mode and wanders off quickly. When we realize she has left and does not come back when called, my hubby shoots his gun and that single gun shot sound reminds her she is supposed to be home.
How many Christians are like Roxie in their loyalty? Tried and true when something intense is going on, but then wandering and straying when the spiritual realm is not holding our interest. Does God have to shoot a loud gun of warning to remind us where our place is, or just affectionately call our name to get our attention and bring us home?
PRAYER FOR YOU: May you be loyal to the God you serve and cling to His truths no matter what conditions and situations are around you. May you be loyal to the people and things God has entrusted to your care, and always treat them and care for them according to God’s will.
