Summer sparks my awareness of Creation.
Perhaps it’s the warmer weather, the increased hours of sunlight, or the plethora of color all around me. My senses come alive as I enjoy a cool drink, a creamy cone of ice cream, or cool water against my sun warmed skin. I enjoy taking walks at the park, hikes in the mountains, and the sounds of nature surround me there. I hear birds calling, creeks gurgling, and insects buzzing. That connection to creation makes me even more aware of the myriad ways that our Creator invites us to connect to Him.
HE MAKES HIMSELF KNOWN TO US: He wants us to connect to Him by knowing His thoughts. His creation reflects to us His nature and divine power.
“For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!”
Amos 4:13 ESV
HE CARES ENOUGH TO OBSERVE US AND WATCH OVER US:
“from where he sits enthroned he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, he who fashions the hearts of them all and observes all their deeds.”
Psalms 33:14-15 ESV
HE LOOKS FOR CONNECTION WITH THE HUMBLE HEARTED:
“All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.”
Isaiah 66:2 ESV
HE IS FOUND BY THOSE WHO SEEK HIM:
“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,”
Acts 17:24-27 ESV
HIS ULTIMATE CONNECTION TO US IS THROUGH THE SHED BLOOD OF HIS SON: When we accept Christ as our Savior, His creative power begins to transform us more and more into the likeness of Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
How blessed we are that the Creator of the Universe cares so much about us. As we enjoy the beauty and pleasures of creation that surround us and fill our senses, may we always remember that true praise and honor belong to the Creator:
“”Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.””
Revelation 4:11 ESV
